Signs of oil loss
Faded color, loose granules in gutters, and shingles that feel stiff instead of flexible.
Your shingles may be drying out, not wearing out.
Asphalt shingles rely on oils in the asphalt to stay flexible and weather-resistant. Arizona's intense sunlight, extreme heat and seasonal storms draw those oils out over time, and shingles gradually become brittle.
- Intense UV
- Extreme heat
- Monsoon storms
A brittle roof isn’t always a failing roof. If your shingles are aging but still structurally sound, rejuvenation may help restore flexibility and extend your roof’s useful life, so you can put off replacement until you truly need it.
How Arizona weather affects asphalt roofs Take the 1-minute roof self-checkA simple, three-step process
Think of it as an oil change for your roof: rejuvenation replenishes the oils that keep your shingles flexible. Here's what working with ShingleGuard looks like.
- 1
Free roof assessment
We inspect your shingles up close, checking flexibility, granule coverage and any damage, then tell you honestly whether rejuvenation makes sense.
- 2
Protect & tune up
On treatment day we protect landscaping, pools and surfaces, then tune up the roof: Perma-Boot covers on the vent pipes, a few replacement shingles, resealed vents and flashing, and clean gutters.
- 3
Rejuvenate
We apply our bio-based treatment evenly across the shingles, where it is absorbed into the asphalt to replace oils lost to age, sun and heat. It's typically dry within about an hour.
Protect your investment. Keep more of your money.
A roof replacement is one of the largest expenses a homeowner faces. If your roof is aging but still sound, rejuvenation may let you get more years from what you already paid for.
Save compared with replacement
Treating a qualifying roof costs a fraction of a full tear-off and replacement, so you can put off that major expense.
Help restore flexibility
Replacing the petroleum oils the Arizona sun and heat have baked out may help aging shingles become more flexible and less brittle.
Extend useful roof life
One treatment supports shingle flexibility and performance for about 5 to 6 years, helping your existing roof last longer before it needs replacing.
Minimal disruption
No tear-off, no dumpster in the driveway and no crew on your roof for days. Most homeowners go about their day.
Biobased & responsible
A USDA-certified biobased, biodegradable treatment (96% biobased content), designed for safe use around homes. It also keeps old shingles out of the landfill.
Backed by a 5-year warranty
Every ShingleGuard treatment comes with a 5-year warranty, with full terms given to you in writing before any work begins.
A treatment with real credentials
We chose our rejuvenation treatment because it's backed by certification, independent testing and published research, not just marketing.
USDA Certified Biobased
Certified through the USDA BioPreferred program, with 96% biobased content from renewable sources rather than petroleum.
Patented formula
Protected by a U.S. patent issued in 2025 for treatments that improve aged, brittle asphalt binders.
Independently lab-tested
Tested by an independent asphalt testing laboratory in 2020, 2021 and 2024, showing improved shingle flexibility and better granule adhesion.
Untreated shingles shed nearly 2x the granules
In independent lab testing on 13-year-old shingles, untreated shingles lost 13.2% of their granules, nearly twice the 7–8% lost by treated shingles.
Class A fire rating maintained
In independent ASTM E108 fire testing, treated roofs kept their Class A fire rating, and flame spread was slightly reduced.
University research, peer-reviewed
Developed from Iowa State University research, with results published in a peer-reviewed asphalt technology journal in 2025.
Bonds with aged asphalt
University lab analysis showed the treatment chemically reacts with aged asphalt, rather than just softening it the way a plain oil does.
Flexibility restored to nearly new
In Iowa State University testing, treatment brought shingles from roofs more than 15 years old back to nearly new flexibility.
Clean runoff, near-zero VOCs
Water-based with no odor. Independent testing measured just 0.02% VOCs and found no detectable PAHs or PCBs in rain runoff from treated shingles.
Results on any individual roof vary with its age and condition.

Straight answers before you decide
$1.00 to $1.25 per square foot of roof, which comes to $2,000 to $3,000 for most Valley homes. A new shingle roof runs $8,000 to $15,000. The price includes a roof tune-up: a Perma-Boot cover on every plumbing vent pipe, replacing a few damaged shingles, resealing vents and flashing, securing popped nails, and cleaning out your gutters. There’s no minimum. Where you land in the range depends on any extra work your roof needs and where you are in the Valley, and you get the exact price in writing after your free assessment, before you decide anything.
Yes. We inspect your roof, explain what we see, and tell you whether rejuvenation makes sense. There is no cost and no obligation. If your roof isn't a good fit, we'll tell you. Call or text 480-283-4560 to schedule.
Rejuvenation is designed for asphalt shingle roofs that are aging but still structurally sound: shingles that are dry, faded or losing some granules, but are not curling badly, cracking through, leaking or missing in large areas. During your assessment we check shingle flexibility, granule coverage and overall condition before recommending anything.
A roof coating forms a new layer on top of the roof surface. Rejuvenation is absorbed into the asphalt in the shingles themselves to replenish lost oils, and it's designed to bond with the aged asphalt as sun and heat act on it. It is not a paint, sealant or membrane, and it is intended to leave your roof looking like a shingle roof.
Find out if your roof qualifies. It’s free.
A quick assessment tells you where your roof stands and whether rejuvenation could save you from an early replacement. No pressure, no obligation, just straight answers.
